WHO WE HELP
Students/Scholars ~ Parents/Community ~ Volunteers/Tutors
It may seem like a silly question to ask, but it is necessary to understand the background of each student. The MNEF Scholar Programs understands the importance of knowing something about everyone connected to the organization. As, the organization is as much about fostering relationships among Scholars, alumni and families as it is a program serving crucial financial aid needs..
For students who come from similar backgrounds as our own this process will not be a hard task, but for those students who have had an upbringing vastly different than our own calls for a greater connection to succeed.
MNEF has developed a C.O.N.N.E.C.T. means toward helping each level of needs found within the organization: “A Collaboration of Neighbors Networking Educational Connection Today”.
It is the responsibility of each member and volunteer persons to learn something special about their assigned student/scholar, the parents of these scholars as well as the community from which they came; and finally, ensure that our volunteers and tutors match well within these conjunctions to promote success for all.
Our Scholars will be encouraged to correspond with specific levels of the MNEF organization on a regular basis; and parents/guardians will know the immediate and lifelong impact they play on their Scholars’ life.
We will help families CONNECT with their student/scholar in terms of building a support system at home as well as when the student is away at university.
We will collaborate partnerships between education researchers and school-based professionals (e.g., educators, principals, business leaders, parents) in order to evaluate and further develop needed educational strategies and materials.
The Marine Nunn Education Fund is all about Connecting People in Need with People Who Care.
